Two cases of Gilbert´s syndrome

Abstract
|
|
|
Gilbert´s syndrome is rare in this Korea.
Recently at the department of Internal Medicine, two male cases of Gilbert´s syndrome in sibling was observed; one case at the age of 20 and the other 24.
In both cases repeated physical examination had been negative except for the sustained icteric sclera.
Oral and intravenous cholecystogram revealed well visualization in one case and faint visualization in the other.
Positive laboratory findings included increased serum bilirubin (predominating indirect bilirubin) and urobilinogen in the urine.
Needle biopsy specimen of the liver in case 1 showed ballooning of the parenchymal cell but were otherwise normal.
